Community Outreach

Through volunteer efforts and donations, the Central Bank of Belize and its staff support the local community.

As part of its social corporate responsibility, the Bank supports the following organizations and activities:

 Belize Cancer Society

  • The Belize Cancer Society assists those fighting cancer and creates greater awareness about cancer and its effects. The Bank and its employees contribute annually to the Society’s fund-raising initiatives, such as purchasing T-shirts during the Society’s Annual T-shirt drive. Additionally, the Bank donates to the Society and its employees participate in the annual Cancer Walk.

 Salvation Army

  • The Bank and its staff support an annual Christmas Appeal to the Salvation Army. The Bank matches the total donations contributed by staff.

 Belize Blood Bank Association

  • The Bank’s staff is encouraged to voluntarily give the “Gift of Life” through several blood drives conducted throughout the year.

 Student Sponsorship

  • By providing financial assistance to several students, particularly those who live in impoverished conditions, the Bank helps them afford the opportunity to further their education.

The Bank's social groups, the Staff Club and the Banker's Christian Fellowship, further provide assistance to the community, as follows:

Staff Club

The Staff Club is organised and led by members of the Bank’s staff and supported by the Bank’s management. One of the Club's initiatives is to extend assistance to the community. 

Bankers Christian Fellowship

The Bankers Christian Fellowship (BCF) is a group of employees from different religious denominations that contribute to the community through the following activities:

  • Children’s Home and Homes for the Elderly visits
  • Food and clothing drives
  • Needy students and families assistance
