Economist
Our Economists conduct research, prepare, and edit macroeconomic analytical reports on Belize and on economic issues; analyze underlying trends and inter-relationships, as well as forecast key economic variables; assist with the development of economic statistical information and databases; keep abreast of economic developments and trends; assist with and develop policy recommendations; and contribute to educational activities as required by the Central Bank.
The qualifications required for an Economist is a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Experience in economics and/or statistics, and knowledge of all sectors of the Belizean economy and their linkages would be an asset. Strong mathematical and numeracy skills and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical packages, such as EViews, STATA, and SPSS

Our Examiners conducts both off-site surveillance and on-¬site examination of Financial Institutions licensed/registered under the Domestic Banks and Financial Institutions Act (DBFIA), International Banking Act (IBA) and the Credit Unions Act (CUA).
Examiners are required to have a bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field with at least three (3) years relevant experience in auditing or commercial banking. Superior technical knowledge to analyze and interpret bank accounting and financial data and knowledge of the Central Bank Act, DBFIA, IBA, CUA, MLTPA, and their subsidiary laws.

Our Compliance Officers assists in conducting off-site surveillance and on-site examinations of banks, credit unions, financial institutions and moneylenders regulated by the Central Bank of Belize. Oversight includes ensuring that licensees comply with requirements of the Domestic Banks and Financial Institutions Act (DBFIA), International Banking Act (IBA), Credit Unions Act (CUA), Money Laundering and Terrorism (Prevention) Act (MLTPA) and Moneylenders Act (MLA). Compliance Officers are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting and knowledge of the Central Bank Acts.
