Requirements for Notice of Transfer of Land in Belize
In accordance with Statutory Instrument NO. 106 of 2020, amendment to the Exchange Control Regulations Act, sale of real property to or by non-residents requires prior written notice to the Central Bank, providing full particulars of the transaction. See below instructions and requirements on submitting notice of such land transactions.
Steps to submit Notice of Transfer of Land in Belize1. Gather supporting documentation
List of Supporting documentation
- Certified/notarized copy of Transferor’s passport or social security biometric page
- If transferor is an enterprise, certified/notarized copy of passport or social security biometric page for ultimate beneficial owners (all individuals who own more than 10%)
- Certified/notarized copy of Transferee’s passport or social security biometric page
- If transferee is an enterprise, certified/notarized copy of passport or social security biometric page for ultimate beneficial owners (all individuals who own more than 10%)
